More of the same

I took the weekend off, spent some time with the wife, watching football and running errands, and conserving the bankroll for Vegas.

I figured it wouldn’t scar the old BR too much to play in the Monday night $20+5+5 tourney at the new cardroom. I played great TAG poker for 3 hours and made it down to the last two tables when I picked up AA in the SB. It was folded around to me (of course I get no action when I finally pick up a hand), and raise to T2000 from the T200 SB hoping to make it look like a steal. It works, I guess. BB is chip leader (at our table anyway) and decides to play back at me and raises me all-in for T6600 total. Of course I insta-call and am way ahead (I’ll win almost 82% of the time) of his Ks9s. Flop comes rainbow. Turn a spade, makes 2 on board. You can guess what comes next: As on the river, giving me a pretty set that gets beat by his runner-runner K-high flush. Busto on the bubble.

I feel like I’m playing good, but the cards just aren’t cooperating. It’ll turn around eventually, won’t it?
